About Exploration Diet

Exploring flavor combinations and new ingredients to accommodate any and all personal dietary restrictions.
The best kind of meal is a meal shared w

People adopt dietary restrictions for a number of reasons. Some are acutely life-threatening, others, like mine, result in chronic pain. We are all individuals with unique situations. My goal is to provide you with confidence and excitement during your journey cooking and living with food restrictions. Whether your food restriction is life long, temporary, you are cooking for someone else with restrictions, or simply want to be braver with your food choices this site is here to teach & encourage you to embrace your diet.

I hope to give you the courage to be playful, creative, and as the name suggests exploratory with your food. Above all I want to give you the confidence to cook a safe and delicious meal to share with the people you love.

Additionally, you will encounter personal stories from people who live with dietary restrictions, the challenges they faced, and how they overcame the challenges. It is our hope that these stories help you on your own journey, whether your dietary restrictions are new, or you have been living with them for some time. Remember that each hurdle is an opportunity for growth. Though your story is bound to be as unique as you are, you are not alone.

An avid home chef, collector of adventures, and creator of treasures, Nicole Allard rarely has free time. She grew up mostly in Utah, spent a formidable year as a high school exchange student in Finland, and meandered around the US before landing in Raleigh, North Carolina five years ago. For a living, she does toxicological research and keeps her lab from falling apart. She lives with three adorable cats, an aquatic turtle, and more dishes and craft supplies than any one person needs.
